Chrome Extension Setup
Step-by-step guide to install and configure the OptionTrigger Chrome Extension for browser-based TradingView
This guide covers installing the OptionTrigger Chrome Extension for users who prefer using TradingView in their browser rather than the desktop app.
When to use this guide: If you use TradingView in Chrome/Edge browser. For TradingView Desktop users, see the Desktop Setup Guide.
Prerequisites
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser
- TradingView account (free or paid)
- OptionTrigger Backend running (via Desktop app or manually)
Installation Methods
There are two ways to install the extension:

Method 1: Chrome Web Store (Recommended)
Method 2: Manual Installation
For developers or when the Chrome Web Store version is unavailable.
Download Extension Package
Download the latest extension package from the Downloads page.
Open Extensions Page
Navigate to chrome://extensions/ in your browser.
Verifying the Extension
Open TradingView
Go to tradingview.com and open a chart.
Look for Settings Button
The OptionTrigger settings button (gear icon) should appear in the top-right corner.

Connecting to Backend
The extension needs to connect to the OptionTrigger Backend.
Important: Make sure the Backend is running before using the extension.
Connection Status
- Green border: Connected to Backend
- Red border: Not connected
Troubleshooting
Extension Not Loading
- Refresh the TradingView page
- Check extension is enabled in
chrome://extensions/ - Try disabling other extensions
Cannot Connect to Backend
- Verify Backend is running
- Check SSL certificate is installed
- Confirm port 8111 is not blocked
